Rudheath Senior Academy Headteacher’s Newsletter

Friday 24 January 2020

Already half way through this half term and as always we’ve been super busy.

Year 9 Parents’ Evening

Year 9 parents’ evening took place on Wednesday. It was great to welcome so many families keen to make a positive difference to their children’s education.

Positive parental engagement is one of the keys to academic success. If you were not able to make it on Wednesday, teachers will be contacting home, please take time to discuss your child’s progress with them.

Beauty and the Beast Auditions

Miss Pim, Mrs Grannell and Mrs Rimmer have had super hard choices to make with over 80 children taking part in the auditions for our summer show, Beauty and the Beast.

Well done to all who took part, announcements will be made early next week #ambition.

Northwich Festival of Dance

On Wednesday, Racheal Allcock, Olivia Dent, Sarah Hasnauoi, Lucy Whittaker and Grace Cooper represented the school at the Northwich Festival of Dance. Mrs Grannell and the girls put together a great performance in a very short time dancing at the Northwich Memorial Court in front of a large audience including representatives from schools across Vale Royal.

The girls were absolutely brilliant and it was lovely to have Headteachers from local schools commenting on how well they performed – as always brimming with pride for my school!

Sports Hall Athletics Festival

On Friday, RSA’s magnificent year 9 sports leaders officiated at the sports hall athletics festival. Congratulations to Wincham Primary School for winning the year 5/6 event and Rudheath Primary Academy for winning the year 3/4 event. We love having our primary friends here!

Product Design Weekend Workshops

Mr Kershaw will be running product design workshops again this Saturday for year 11 learners, with Mrs Leftwick supporting. If your child is doing GCSE Product Design, please make sure that they arrive at the academy by 9:15am on Saturday mornings until half term to ensure that their products are completed and to a high quality.

Attendance at these sessions will count towards the achievement log.

Have a wonderful weekend!
