Rudheath Senior Academy Headteacher’s Newsletter
Friday 17 January 2020
It’s been a fairly quiet week at Rudheath Senior although all our learners have been very busy in class as ever!
Year 10 Parents’ Evening
Year 10 parents’ evening took place on Thursday. It was great to welcome so many families keen to make a positive difference to their children’s education.
Positive parental engagement is one of the keys to academic success. If you were not able to make it on Thursday, teachers will be contacting home, please take time to discuss your child’s progress with them.
Summer Show Announcement
Miss Pim, Mrs Grannell and the music and drama team have decided on the summer show. We are delighted to announce that this year’s summer show will be “Beauty and the Beast”. Watch this space for further announcements – we will be auditioning and looking for stage crew support in the coming weeks #ambition
Year 11 were issued with achievement logs today. The idea is that year 11 have the card signed each time they engage in activities that will support their GCSE success such as attending period 6 and weekend and holiday workshops, creating their own knowledge organisers, making a set of flash cards etc. A full achievement log will earn them £20 off their prom ticket or leavers’ hoodie – so get going! #resilience #scholarship #ambition
Product Design Weekend Workshops
Mr Kershaw will be running product design workshops for the next 6 Saturdays for year 11 learners, with Mrs Leftwick and me supporting. If your child is doing GCSE Product Design, please make sure that they arrive at the academy by 9:15am on Saturday mornings until half term to ensure that their products are completed and to a high quality.
Attendance at these sessions will count towards the achievement log issued to year 11 yesterday.
Well the weekend is here and I’m looking forward to seeing the sunshine! Have a super weekend everyone!
