At The Rudheath Senior Academy, we understand students need support and guidance to help them become successful young adults and to identify the next steps in their career. Meetings with families before starting with us is an integral part of ensuring that we get to know our students as individuals.
All staff pride themselves on their abilities to build positive relationships with students. This ensures that their time at RSA is a positive and valuable experience.
All students are assigned a Form Tutor and Head of Year who will support students and parents throughout their journey. Other key contacts for student support are:
- Jemma Morrell, Assistant Head Teacher / Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Lydia Garrett, Assistant Head Teacher / SENDCo
- Emma Nelson, Children’s Advocate
Support & Inclusion
At The Rudheath Senior Academy, we work hard to provide appropriate support to all students. If a student has a specific educational need we will try our best to ensure learning is supported.
If you wish to discuss learning support please get in touch to make a personal appointment.
You can either contact us by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Or by phone: 01606 42515
We pledge to respect and value every learner as an individual, irrespective of ability, race, gender or need, and to enable every learner to participate fully in all aspects of RSA life.
Where it’s needed, we will adapt our environment and equipment as much as practicably possible, as well as seeking specialist external advice.
The Student Council offers students the opportunity to express their opinions and views in a safe and controlled environment where each person feels valued and respected. The Student Council provides the main outlet for student thought, and is used to solicit student response to a range of academy-wide issues.
The Student Council’s aims are;
- to improve the academy ethos
- to enhance citizenship education
- to develop leadership skills
- to raise self-confidence, personal organisation and emotional intelligence
Membership – A minimum of two members of each year group (elected by peers from tutor groups), plus additional members co-opted as necessary.
Meetings are held once per half term, as per the school calendar, and are attended by the Head Teacher and other senior leaders. Other staff are invited to listen to student thoughts as and when required.
It is essential that you are aware of how to stay safe online. Please take some time to visit the Internet Safety page of this website to find guidance and helpful contacts.
