The Student Council offers students the opportunity to express their opinions and views in a safe and controlled environment where each person feels valued and respected. The Student Council provides the main outlet for student thought, and is used to solicit student response to a range of academy-wide issues.
The Student Council’s aims are;
● to improve the academy ethos
● to enhance citizenship education
● to develop leadership skills
● to raise self-confidence, personal organisation and emotional intelligence
Membership – A minimum of two members of each year group (elected by peers from tutor groups), plus additional members co-opted as necessary.
Meetings are held once per half term, as per the academy calendar, and are attended by the Headteacher and our Senior Progress Leader. Other staff are invited to listen to student thoughts as and when required.
The following links will help you to ensure you are making the most of your time whilst preparing for exams.
The homework planner is the main communication between school, and home and helps students to organise themselves effectively. Parents will be expected to sign your planner every week.
Students, please ensure that you take home everything required to do the homework and tick in your planner when each piece of work is complete.
We have a regular Homework Club in the Library. If you need to use the internet for homework tasks you can use homework club to have access to ICT. Many subjects run their own homework clubs too and you should ask your subject teacher about this if you feel this would be beneficial to you.
