Ambitious plans for Rudheath Senior Academy are underway
New Headteacher Ana Roslan says an ambitious drive to ensure Rudheath Senior Academy reaches its ‘great potential’ is already underway.
The Northwich school, formerly University of Chester Academy Northwich UCAN, is now part of the North West Academies Trust (NWAT) which has a superb record of improving schools.
Ms Roslan has been appointed to lead a far-reaching improvement plan aimed at lifting standards across the board and providing children with the best possible all-round education.
She already has four years of experience at the school, and believes her first-hand knowledge combined with the dedicated backing of NWAT will be the ideal force for change.
Ms Roslan said: “I am really excited to have the opportunity to work with staff and the community to make this a great school for all children where we put the learner at the centre.
“We’ve had some turbulent times but, despite the difficulties, we have made significant progress in the four years that I have been here.
“And I’ve no doubt we are now in a position to make even greater strides.
“This is a fabulous school with great potential, our pupils deserve the best possible education that prepares them for success as they go out into the world. That is exactly what I intend to happen – I am very excited for the future.”
Steve Docking, CEO of NWAT, says the relaunch is a positive move for the school in Middlewich Road.
He said: “We want the best possible education for children at Rudheath and this is at the heart of everything we do.
“Our plans are ambitious, but we know that we have the drive and determination to make them happen.”
Chester based NWAT is one of the country’s top performing trusts with a proven track record of improving schools.
Oak View Academy, Winsford, was the second worst primary in the country in 2014 but is now rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Other west Cheshire schools within the Trust include St Martin’s Academy, Chester, which was rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted within a year of opening in 2013 and Delamere Academy, near Northwich, which is ranked the highest performing primary in the borough, according to the latest performance tables.
